NAF BRC National Championships
This month the EDRC Showjumping Team took part in the NAF British Riding Clubs National Championships. A massive well done to all the team members, their supporters, Aivly Country Store for their numnahs and everyone else involved! Here is a report from the event by Mo:
Championship Report by Mo Shearing (September 2015)
Lucy and I have attended two championships, within a month, and nearly 700 miles travelled. We have learnt loads and met some lovely people on the way.
The Show Jumping team, of Victoria, Lyndsey, Katie and Lucy, travelled in two lorries to the Championships in Lincolnshire earlier this month to represent East Dorset Riding Club. The Team members supported each other, walking courses, re walking the courses and discussing technicalities.
Our support team, of husbands and Dads, volunteered at the Championships, without whom the team would not have been able to compete and I was the pole putter upper, in the collecting ring! I think they had the loudest support at the ringside too!!
Whilst the team did not achieve, in the placings department, they did achieve in building a platform to progress further in the future, well done!
Thank you to East Dorset Riding Club for your support!
Well done team! There are lots more photos of the team in action HERE
East Dorset Riding Club Jump into the Championships
15th June 2015
EDRC sent two teams to BRC Area 17 show jumping qualifiers on Sunday 14th June 2015 and were 1st in 95cm and 2nd 80cm with one individual rider also coming first in her 80cm class.
This qualifies them for the BRC NAF National Championships 5-6 September 2015 at Lincolnshire Showground to compete in Team and individual Showjumping, following their success.
As a New BRC Club it has taken a while for EDRC to find their feet and put together teams, this being its first year competing in the showjumping. Penny Rendle has taken charge of all training with local event rider and trainer Sarah Perry. Sarah has coached the riders over the past few months; and as always hard work paid off!
East Dorset Riding club launched in February 2014. During its first year they secured over 170 members. They have run many training events across all disciplines and abilities with a variety of trainers at all levels, including a very successful clinic with Olympian Lucinda Fredericks in February of this year. The club has gone from strength to strength and will continue to strive with success like yesterday.
Lucy Shearing also qualified for the finals of the 90cm Horse Trials earlier this month!
We are now holding our breath for the dressage qualifiers with strong riders receiving regular training with Dressage Coach and rider Claire Speer.
Training will continue until the week before the championships.
All involved are keen to get the team to the championships and are looking for sponsorship and advertising i.e. printed saddle cloths, and all associated travel and overnight costs. Any help no matter how big or small would be very gratefully received. If you would like to be part of this very exciting journey please contact email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
